Rega Brio MK7
We've missed this little champion of an amp!
As Rega return with another triumphant product, it is great to see the return of the evergreen Brio, now in its seventh iteration.
Both cute in size but massive in its fun fluid approach to music. The Brio once again retains its shoe box size and moving magnet phono stage but this time adds two digital inputs (coaxial and optical) alongside three line level analogue inputs. With 50w into 8 ohms you'll have plenty of choice for speaker partnerships.
Still made in the Rega factory in Essex the Brio Mk7 is sporting a few new features. Alongside the new DAC there is also an auto standby feature whereby the unit will drop into standby mode after one hour without a signal. This should reduce power consumption but still allow us all to get the best performance from the new amplifier. The circuit design has been re-laid with key improvements. A second raw power supply is used to add isolation between the output stage and driver line and phono stage with higher specification op amps in the line, phono and DAC amplifier.
The simple fact is the Brio Mk7 just sounds great!
